Hi German! Yes, its still very active. Many of the Marines are in Iraq and/or Afganistan right now. A few years back Barbers Point NAS was closed and the P-3's were moved to Kaneohe, where they still fly out of. Sounds like you'll have to come back for a visit!

Thanks for the response Chuck and I enjoyed viewing your galleries. By the way, is this still an active Marine Corps base?
You are right German! The private boats are kept to the left. To the right would be more of Kaneohe Bay, the runway and hangars. I took my parents and their friends on a tour of the island and we stopped there to visit the PX. Thanks for checking out my pictures. I spent my military time in the Army, but if the Marines had a few good women, like the one in one of your albums, I'd have been in the Marines too. I'll be checking out your pictures in closer detail later German! Aloha!!

Hello Chuck,
Can you tell a bit more about this picture? Is this what used to be Kaneohe Marine Corps Air Station? If it is the spot you're on looks like the where I stood guard duty protecting the offices sail boats on base back in the 80's......lol
