It's that time of the year for the Egrets to pick a mate, and start their mating display and process.
The male will usually go off and retrieve sticks and bring back to the female so they can start to build a nest.
The male hands over the branch, beak to beak, and the branch is worked in place to start forming the nest.
Once the nest is completed, the mating process continues and the female lays 2-3 eggs in the nest. (blue in color)
Over the next several weeks, the female and/or the male will sit on the eggs to keep them warm for hatching.
Once hatched, the male and/or the female will go hunting for food for the little birds.
The adults find food, eat it, then come back to the nest and regurgitate it up for the little birds to eat.
And as the young ones are hatched and growing a little at a time, an alligator is near by for a quick snack if one of the little birds fall into the water.
