Photo a Day, 18 July 2006... This glass prism is a replica of what they used to use in ships to bring light from the decks into the the lower regions of the ship. The flat bottom would be flat on the deck with the prism hanging down into the ship so that light from the deck was reflected in... I managed to pick this one up on clearance for less than $2 and it has been sitting in my back windowsill for the past couple of days. This afternoon I noticed the light on it and took a few shots then thought about bringing over a piece of dephinium blossoms that had broken off in transporting the new plant home... at that point the strong light had change to this softer light. I love how the shadow of the window has the cool blues while past the prism the light is still a bit warm...
