Last Year's Photo

Photo a Day, 19 June 2006... Have you ever tried focusing in the dark??? This firefly managed to get in the house somehow and was flying/flashing around our back window. I had given up on trying to get a shot today and had shutdown the computer and was headed off to bed. Turned out the lights and then I saw him... once I found out he was actually inside the house, I was determined that I was going to get a shot of this dang bug... of course if I turned on the lights he would fly somewhere and hide... turn them out... out he'd come and flash away... so ended up focusing in the dark...

Title Font is Amelia

ACR, Resize, Framing, Sharpening - Photoshop CS2

Canon EOS 20D ,Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM
15s f/5.0 at 100.0mm iso400
Despite pBase's bug that states otherwise this was done in Manual
It isn't like program would allow a true black with that guy flashing away...

Wow, never seen one of those, don't even know they live around here or not. Amazing they give so much light, and you managed to capture is so nice. Looks a bit spooky.

I didn't know you had fireflies. I love watching them in the night.

Wonderful shot! I am sure it was quite the challenge but you have done a masterful job of it. V.

I love this, CJ; lightning bugs are a treasure chest of great memories of my childhood ~ GMV (& yes, trying to focus in the dark is shooting blind, so you scored with this effort!!)

Maybe you should have titled it Frustration! Nice catch of the glow.
