07Feb06 Remember When - 10032

Photo a Day, Day 314...I must have been 7 or 8 when I got this little (1.25" long) 1911 Model T in a box of cracker jack. My favorite little car which I'm surprised I didn't actually lose somewhere all considered. I used to love cracker jack more for the cool toys I think than the actual snack... Remember the little joke books? Now it seems all you ever get is one of those fake tattoos... perhaps they are concerned with choking hazard (ie lawsuit) if they put something with little parts to put together. The Model T has 4 little plastic wheels and 2 little running boards I had to assemble... but I'm glad I've kept this little car around even if the most he does now days is collect dust on my computer desk (which I didn't quite manage to get all off before photographing this... oops...

I agree with John. I used to LOVE cracker jacks...haven't had them in about 20+ years, though. Do the still make them?

What a cool toy and cool image. (I think the dust gives essential authenticity!)

Perfect DOF
