03Feb06 Flames - 10001

Photo a Day, Day 310...I took this this morning while trying to get the woodstove going - I actually like it much better in b/w esp the burned piece of paper on the left with the textures etc... I've offically rolled over the counter on my 20D - 10000 photos in 8 1/2 months (and my hard drive is hurting for it!)

If you want to see more of who is doing the February in B/W Challenge check out: http://www.pbase.com/topics/cjburianek/bw_feb.

ACR, Channel Mixer to convert to b/w, Resize, Frame, Sharpen: PhotoshopCS2

Canon EOS 20D ,Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM
1/10s f/4.5 at 100.0mm iso400 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

I would never have thought of doing this in B&W - the result is incredibly effective. Nice job.

You really have an amazing knack for taking shots that are traditionally done in color and doing a superb job of it in b&w. Very nicely done.

A different take on the fire, I like it too in BW. Can imagine the heat in our own head.

I don't even like to think about the hit counter... if I think about it the shutter is surely gonna blow.
