01July05 Hanalei Taro Fields Panoramic

Hanalei, Kauai

Photo a Day, Day 94...7 Shots taken on the 26th of June but merged today into the panoramic. I found with the 10-22 lens in my pack that I'm taking less panoramics though I did take a few on the trip to Kauai.
I'm SLOWLY looking through the photos I took. Some I thought were horrible when looking at them on my laptop actually turned out - must have had the screen at the wrong angle... Something interesting I just noticed looking at the metadata with Adobe Bridge to put the info up for this one - Canon 20D puts the serial number of the camera itself in the metadata.. kind of cool...

Adobe Camera Raw, Merged into 1 image using layer masks, Resize, Frame, USM - PhotoshopCS2

Canon EOS 20D ,Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM
1/50s f/2.8 at 24.0mm iso200 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

I shoot them in manual everything (focus/whitebalance/aperatur/speed) and then use Photoshop's photomerge to "approximately" line them up but check the "leave as layers" I then start from one end and put a layer as "difference" mode - if the layers are aligned perfect then the image turns entirely black - I mask to where this occurs and then go to the next layer. Any color corrections typically with curves or levels on individual channels but that typically isn't neccesary if shot in manual...

Very nice pano. Did you use any special software? I use Photovista Panorama myself.

Very nice pano shot. Like the open fields against the mountains.

That is cool! I like this with the variation of the cloud colors from one side to the other.
