Coyote (3 images)

Mt. Diablo, Walnut Creek California

These shots were taken while mounted on my horse shooting with backlighting.

I think being mounted on the horse was the only way I could have gotten this as I was able to aim the camera down so not as much flare as I would have gotten if I was on foot. (And much braver...don't know if I would have wanted to pause so long if I was on foot!)

1st shot into the sun...

Outstanding shots! We have these in our area, I hear them almost every day but so far haven't been able to get a shot of them.

Great shots! These remind me of a day when I myself met a coyote on a trail. We both surprised each other quite suddenly, after a long calm look he was off, but I'll never forget it. I know they are maligned but they're just doing what they need to do to survive- I think they are beautiful! -V

He looks quite sly. I wouldn't want to be on the ground with him! Well done!

Wow, what a capture! Great job, especially from horseback - although I hear you about being happy to not be groundlevel with this guy!
