I had a mirror in front of me, the camera on a vice grip tripod, mounted above the license plate. I had to flip the image so the letters would not be backwards. Some glare and artifacts from the reflection. I forgot to wear my plastic cat nose...:-( next year
In 1987 I participated in the Amer. Lung Assn.'s TransAmerica Bicycle Trek. 197 of us pedaled from Seattle, WA to Atlantic City, NJ. Each participant had to raise 5K. I order these plates afterwards. I often wore a tiger striped, HOT pink & black jersey, that got a little ripped up when I was hit by a car...the driver did not see me. Must have been color blind! (It was maybe fade a bit after 3500+ miles)
PSA, I am riding behind Eric Heiden with the bright helmet & purple & grey jacket

In 1987 all new license plates issued by DMV are reflectorized.
Flo - I can tell you have a great sense of humor, are certainly not afraid to express yourself and have a much higher than normal amount of creativity. I can only figure the driver really wasn't looking at the road or was falling asleep in order to miss seeing you. ~VVV~
You are so funny! I love your outfit. The guy must have been blind, period. I definitely would have noticed you. Actually I always pay attention to bikers. I know what it's like to be on two wheels in the midst of motorists. ( I used to be a cyclist. )
