2012 Baltic Cruise - The Hermitage, St. Petersburg, Russia

The highlight of our cruise was visiting St. Petersburg, Russia. We arranged for a local company to take us around as a small group of ten. SPB Tours not only took care of our visas, but provided us with an intimate view of the city, including a trip through their subway system, lunches in local restaurants, and quick entrances into the amazing palaces and the Hermitage. Our guide, Tanya, works in the off-season at the Hermitage in the quiet off-season. Her knowledge was astounding. We only saw one very small section of this fascinating palace. It is massive yet beautiful.

I tried to avoid having people in most of these shots. The 'crowd management/flow' was excellent, our tour company was extremely knowledgeable so we were the first visitors to the Hermitage that day, and the only long line we encountered was at Catherine's Palace.
