On the Block

Phoenix, Arizona

This GMC bus (former city of Long Beach City Bus) was owned by the late artist known as Von Dutch. He used it as a workshop and a home. It is going on the auction block at the world famous Barrett-Jackson auction this week. Go figure!

It has now been discovered that the bus was originally purchased by Douglas Aircraft of Escondido , Ca. and was never a city bus. This information was obtained from the Ohio Dept of Transportation. It was also stated that this was the first bus with an automatic transmission . I am currently restoring the Von Dutch Bus. Steve Kafka
