Young red-tail

Wisconsin

We were playing cribbage and Dave looked up at the neighbor's roof and saw a hawk. I ran for my camera. I put 2 1.4x extenders on my 300mm lens. It is very hard to hand-hold it, but I had no choice. We figure he is a young hawk since they usually never come into town. He flew from the neighbor's roof right over me and onto ours. Too bad there wasn't a pretty sky...oh well, I was happy to get the shot.

Canon EOS 5D ,Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L USM
1/200s f/8.0 at 420.0mm iso250 Had 2- 1.4x extenders on the 300mm for 588mm full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Nice, Cindy, especially considering it's handheld with 2 extenders. Should have called me and I could have loaned you my 600. Of course, you would have needed to drive down here to pick it up ...
