What's the flap all about?

My neighbor's cat was chasing a mouse around the yard. The House Finches were all in a flap. They were flying right over the cat screeching at him. I was sitting on my deck enjoying all of the action.

This is a great capture. I like that it's different from many birding images in that it isn't static.
