Next on the agenda was Cedar Key Museum State Park. The museum has the restored 1920s house of Saint Clair Whitman. On the grounds of the museum is also a plaque indicating John Muir stayed for several months in Cedar Key, writing about his experience in his book "A Thousand Mile Walk to the Gulf". What the plaque doesn't say - he stayed for months because he contracted malaria. What a way to spend a vacation...
