It is certainly incredibly amazing to witness the absolute obliteration of my hometown. Unbelievable. Incredible.. Amazing...

I grew up there and I never thought that this town could have survived in itself, as violent as it is and old. I came through town 4 months ago for vacation, It was foggy, misty, wet and dedark. I was never more intimidated going through there and more scared. That's how i grew up. Yep scary

My uncle worked at the stock yard. They probably knew each other.
I grew up there during different parts of my life. Family travelled a LOT!
It is sad to see the decline.

I am not sure..it has been a long time since I have been to Washington Park. The Wayne Feed sign was there for years until it was bought out a few years ago. I remember how East Saint Louis use to look and it is nothing like this. Last week my husband and I decided to drive through there and you wouldn't believe how run down it is. I wouold love to share my grief with someone who remembers the town the way it use to be..Do you remember the stock yards in National City? My uncle owned a grain mill next to it.

Why won't this company cut these weeds? Why won't the city hire landscapers that will not cut down lots like this and clean up after they are finished. I have seen one so-called mowing company that cut down the weeds from a lot and rather than rake it clean as I would expect a professional to do, he left it with weeds hanging onto the street for this is how high the weeds were and when I complained I was told I should be happy the lot was cut. East St Louisians have settled too long for less. Hire Professionals that care about how a job they have completed, appears to those when finished.
