I lived in E.St. Louis from 1940 to 1966. I remember the Majestic on Collinsville Avenue , but the area is unrecognisesable almost, today. I remember Sears, SIUE on tenth street, the Esquire, Price’s, Hannighan’s. We were The “The All American City” in Look magazine in1958. Sight-seeing on Google Earth, nothing is the same.

Guest I'm not from East St.Louis Illinois or St.Louis Missouri But I Have Lived In East St.Louis Illinois Before and yes I will say that the Mayor of East St.Louis is and should be held responsible For The Condition that East.St.Louis Is In I Do Believe That ESL is and can still be a beautiful place if The Mayor Can be a responsible and caring Mayor for East St.Loius Illinois

I've been gone from there since 1980, but if this is on collinsville ave. and sits on the west side of street it's probably the old clothing store "P.N. Hirsh"

I believe this use to be Schucarh Shoes or Schucart Shoes..Can anyone agree or remember?
