i lived at 602 Missouri Apt. A. My mom and I would walk to Miss Ann's restaurant where my bother worked or too the cigar store to buy candy. on down a little farther to Illini Federal or walgreens. lunch at woolworths. WOW. It's so heart breaking to see how the citizens have allowed the city to come to be this way. WOW again

Illinois Bank used to be First National Bank - my mom worked there in the 50's and I stayed there one day with her (no babysitter?) while she worked. I got to walk into the vault and I remember they actually had a $1000 bill they let me hold. Went to Woolworths for lunch, rode the bus home to Rosemont. Does anyone remember that John Kennedy stoppped in ESL during his campaign and she got to see him and we have pictures of him in the crowd of people. Don't recall if she shook his hand or not.

WOW! I remember when I was young and my aunt would take me to eat at WOOLWORTHS downtown EAST ST LOUIS. Buster Brown shoes and Easter dresses. Man I miss home.

Guest: We Need to come together and Pray! because in 2009 a Change is Coming and believe it or not the citizens in East St Louis, Is gonna be the ones to make it happend I grew up in East St Loui, Illinois my self and I still have faith as the size of a mustard seed that Downtown East St Louis, will Be a Downtown again(Watch)!Never Under estimate the POWER OF GOD!
