I'm not unhappy we never saw 100F this summer. Car thermometers often read higher than ambient because the sun can heat pavement beyond air temperature.
It has been strangely hot for me in SoCal also...but 101 in Kansas does seem extreme. But, went to the Getty Villa last night for a special show and I needed a jacket in the early evening...it was pleasant...though my right shoulder is badly kinked up from sitting in the outdoor amphitheater for 90+ minutes. Kind of unmoving for 90 minutes. Traveller
