Lightning Strikes in a Summer Storm

Quail Creek, AZ

A typical late afternoon monsoon storm.
It was short lived, ~1 hr, and small in size, only a few miles across.
But it dropped a lot of water where it did rain.

Nature gave me the composition with the cactus. The monsoon storm continued to move west, so the 2nd shot did not include the cactus. And I moved the camera to better align with the cactus.

My favorite is the one on the one on the left. Nice touch to include the cactus in your shot. Paul

T - yes, the local rain cools down the area its in, often by 10-20 degrees. But it will warm back up rather quickly once the storm disapates.

Super cool...this I love, both of them....does the rain storm cool off the Valley? Traveller
