This Sucker Is Bright

I picked this up from the Vine and I’m very impressed with the light output.

Back as a young electrician I worked in a cave that was being converted into an underground office complex and warehouse. We were first ones in running temporary lighting and power so it was pitch black in there when you got away from the entrance. I never forgot what one of the Geo technicians told me the first day I worked there. He said to always, always, always carry a minimum of 2 flashlights with you at all times in the cave in the event you drop one and it breaks because you’ll never find your way out. I listened and followed his advice and ever since I’ve been a flashlight guy. It’s embarrassing to admit how many working flashlights and lanterns I have around.

I was skeptical but those battery jump packs actually work, my daughter had one I used once when the OEM battery in my Ranger punched the clock at 3.5 years. I had other chargers and jumper cables available but chose to try it as a test and much to my surprise it started it. Oddly a few months later the lithium battery in her jump pack swelled and failed, I didn’t hesitate to buy a new one since it proved its worth to me. They do need to be checked and plugged in to recharge occasionally. Paul

I have a rechargeable spotlight from Harbor Freight that delivers more illumination than one with higher numbers I got off Amazon. Even with a generator, I keep a couple of flashlights around the house and always travel with a small one.

I bought our daughter a nifty combo that I hope she'll never need. It gives jump starts, inflates tires, can charge a phone or computer, and provides light. Takes up a good chunk of the glove compartment, so it's a good thing she doesn't keep gloves there.

I have a simple Apple watch (no idea which version). I'm in the habit of wearing it daily but look forward to opportunities to wear my finer timepieces.

I wish I could get you a better price on the Approach but unfortunately that opportunity doesn’t exist anymore since she’s been retired over 6 years now and doesn’t have sources on the inside anymore.

Paul - I am looking at the Garmin Approach S44 GPS Golf Smartwatch. I really don't hike anymore, and this Garmin looks like a well priced Smart Watch for me.

When it comes to smartwatches this watch isn’t the smartest nor is it the dumbest of smartwatches on the market. It’s a Garmin Venue 3. I strongly considered the Apple Watch but the price was just too much compared to the discount my wife was able to get the on the Venue 3 for just a few less features. I don’t use all the features of this one as it is now, not even close.
