I wonder what kind of stone. I've seen something like that around pools at resorts. Some had to change materials for reasons including heat absorption. At least everyone seems to be enjoying themselves.
No, Not Sand, rather a crushed cream colored stone...better than sand certainly...but, with all the upgrades and whatnot there has been no provision for shade trees...this is my preference, but LACMA has replied there a bunch of 100 ft palm trees planted here and there,,,can you see why we have not been able to make and progress or sense with these people?
