Home Sweet Home

2 barred owlets staying out of the rain.

This is a real image, but the hole faces north, and inside it's almost pitch black.
The owlets almost look like ghosts inside of it.
From the camera, about all a person could see are the beaks.
I couldn't see them with the naked eye.

No. I rarely use a monopod or a tripod.
I have 3 or 4 of each, and about the only time I use one is for exposures over one second.

At least until now, (at age 67) I have very steady hands, and I take a number of shots in a row.
That way one of them is bound to be sharp.
The in camera o.s. certainly helps.

Were you using a tripod or a monopod, that would be a tough shot for me to keep the camera still enough at 800mm. Paul

Most of the time, when we find barred owlets, by the time they are this age, they're out of the nest and flying.
These owlets are way pasted due to leave the nest.

Another fine nature photo. They probably feel secure in there, and are warm.

It seems especially nice that Your Camera allows to see where the eye fails...this is excellent for this reason also. Traveller
