Sign of Spring

This is the earliest I've put away the driveway markers.
Hopefully I haven't jinxed myself and my neighbors.
Mother Nature can be swift to punish the arrogant.

We have an "h-shaped" driveway and no sidewalk. The city is pretty good about our grass (wish I could say the same about our plow guy, who really isn't that bad). Having roadside ditches probably helps. I'm more concerned about our mailbox being hit by our neighbor's plow guy or a delivery truck.

My last driveway was pretty long and straight. I only needed to have a few (3-4) on each side to mark off where I ran the snowblower. Maybe a couple on the sidewalk. I needed more along the front yard where it "touched" the road. They were for the city snow plow and to save my grass.

The entire driveway is outlined. The "lollipops mark the front walk and parking area across from it.

I figured you place them on the driveway over a culvert & drainage ditch to provide additional guidance in a more hazardous area. Paul

Dave - No, at least not by me. I used that style in MI and MN for years.
I found them better at night.

Should I be surprised no one asked about the six "lollipop" reflectors?

Ahhh Thanks for the explanation....I had no clue what this was about...I am still always ready to be educated....so thanks again for the clear and concise writing. Traveller

I have 10 similar (orange) curb marker rods that I only put out when I expect the snowplows in the neighborhood. I know it’s a difficult job for them to see the curbs especially at night covered with snow but I feel I’m doing my part helping them by providing a visual reference. Of course my motives are selfish since I don’t want them damaging my lawn or hitting the sprinkler heads. Paul
