A MN Farmer's Market

Richfield, MN

I am back in Minnesota for a couple of weeks. One thing I enjoy immensely is visiting a local Farmers Market. Each of the towns and suburbs has one, generally varying by day of the week. The twin cities are also home to a large number of Hmong , many of whom were farmers in their native Thailand. They have taken advantage of the mN rich topsoil. These farmers tend to dominate the local markets.

For me, I enjoy walking a market. Today, we walked around the Richfield market with my daughter. She has her favorite stalls to find her corn and other vegetables. Today, I had my camera out trying to capture the color, shapes, and textures of the various produce. Tomorrow, she will go to a neighboring suburb to buy some more fresh produce. AHH, Summer!!

Thanks.
I need more than 4 for this topic. :-)

Jim, this is a terrific photo and more than worthy of being in eligible (not to mention being very much on topic). Of course it’s your choice how to rank your entries. I personally would not have relegated this to Exhibition. Enjoy that walleye!

Dave, sounds great. We will eat out tomorrow for the 1st time on this trip, and MN walleye will be on my plate.

We had dinner at a "farm-to-table" restaurant last night. The freshness shined. I had walleye and a Caprese salad. Yes, I should have taken a picture of it.

So, you think my story is too long? Perhaps for some. But for others who don't have access to many or any real farmer's markets, it might be informative.

Bottom line - did you like the photo, even though it was taken with a phone camera?

"Today, I had my camera out trying to capture the color, shapes, and textures of the various produce." Here's a picture taken with my cellphone.
