We don’t have as many bees around as we used to and it’s not due to my chemical use to murder aphids. Who knows the bees might have been the culprit that brought in a few aphid hitchhikers.
We used to have an abundance of bees in the neighborhood until 3 or 4 years ago. There was a guy just up the street that had a few well established hives. I think it was 3 years back he sold and moved them out so now we have much fewer bees buzzing about. Paul
Paul - I have learned that red berries are avoided by lots of birds and insects; sort of a protective color that says "I'm poisonous or don't taste good". Perhaps blue is the opposite and invites animals in.
Bees seem to favor my flowers with the blue hues too. I recently sprayed them with a concoction of Permethrin and Taurus SC to help fight off an unrelenting infestation of aphids. The bees didn’t like that. Paul
