No curbs along our street. Pavement abuts grass.

Unfortunately the curb style we have in most cities in Johnson county except for the very old areas are what they called “rolled curbs”, not the older style of “barrier curbs”. I dislike the rolled curbs for that very reason, it’s much too easy for people to drive up into your yard with little effort and no consequences to their vehicles.

Many years ago a city trash truck drove into my yard and made huge ruts. I filed a complaint and claim with the city and they hired a company to repair it.

I would’ve thought the curb would’ve offered some protection to the lawn.

I put one next to our mailbox with the hope it might offer some protection.

Someone either missed our neighbors driveway when turning in or veered off of it when exiting. Probably a truck, as it managed to make it through the ditch.

Many people in our neighborhood, put rocks along the edge of their lawn to keep people from driving or parking on it. When a snowplow hits one of those it really tears up the grass.

In MN, I tried putting some out by the curb for the same reason. But after the first large snow fall they tended to get destroyed or hidden.

Some people in my neighborhood use them to help thwart the snowplow drivers from tearing up the lawn at the curbs edge. Paul

We have a mix of these and the skinny fiberglass (watch out for splinters) kind. The "lollipop" type are intended to signal people where to park.

It's getting to the time of year when I have to resist pulling them out. I know if I do it to early, the resulting snowfall will be my fault.

I remember these. My winter driveway had quite a few.

I really like the simplicity you captured here.
Very nicely done.
