I was within less than 100 miles of you, in Indian Wells to watch tennis. We started out in San Diego, where we went to the zoo and visited new friends from our December trip to Antarctica.

Amusingly, I did throw into my trunk a good winter coat, gloves and some tennis shoes....but alas, it wasn't that terribly cold and neither pair of shoes were any good for hiking....everything was so slippery, and so dangerous, alas I couldn't even make the long circle home!

I was coming back from Fontana where all San Bernardino Probates are held...Die in Needles on the Arizona Border, come to Fontana.

I jumped on the 15 North, 35 minutes to Wrightwood, and twenty minutes beyond that, the road is closed at Vincent Gap Trail Head. Still, a very nice journey and I would imagine easy for you and Bernice.

Snow was pretty dirty around Wrightwood, ski lifts were closed, but it got nicer the further up you went.

Maximum Altitude was probably 7,600 ft....not high at all, though your ears will pop.

I was pretty unhappy that I couldn't make the full circle to Mt Wilson, Altitude only 5,713 ft, , but a closed road with snow plows is a closed road. (the road did not look like it needed to be closed)

Still, a very pleasant drive all the way to the end, where the road was closed.

Best Wishes, T

Oh yea why are you up in the mountains wearing a suit fit for court rather than hiking gear? Looking good there buddy, looking sharp. Paul

That certainly does look like a creature under the tree. It also looks very pissed off at you, did you run over this critter and now it’s planning some payback? Paul

Yes, my brother said the same thing re the small critter behind me...but it is only an exposed tree root...and so not so interesting...(grin) traveller

Animals in the foreground and background? (Looks like one under the tree.)
