06 Charging.

I don’t put a lot of miles on my truck (average 4000 a year) so I use a battery charger / tender to keep the battery topped. According to the Ford service guys my truck is considered a high power use truck with all the connectivity option's it has, hence the AGM battery, and it needs occasional charging or more driving.

It has never not started nor has it ever cranked slow but I do get messages on my phone saying the truck is switching to low power mode to save battery. Maybe simple old tucks like Alastair’s aren’t such a bad idea after all.

Mine unfortunately needs to be driven some distance to properly recharge. Ford has set the BMS charging at 70%. Hmmm…. A Ford Ranger forum I’m a member of some of the guys use Forescan to raise the charging rate to 80-90% and report no apparent issues. I don’t have Forescan or the OBD ELM 327 adapter nor am I sure I want to be messing around with the OEM programming. Paul

I haven't resorted to one of those yet. I try to avoid having any car sit for more than three weeks without starting and running.

Great idea - the transport of power. Nice capture.
Yes, as life presents us more options, it also gets more complicated.
