11 Winter Web

Yes, the web is outside and that is snow in the background.
Odd timing for a spider to build a web out in the elements?
I'm curious to see how long it will be there.

All the deer (at least the does) look the same to me, and none of them inspire "SOME PIG".

Have you named any of your deer friends, possibly “Wilbur”. Charlotte might be preparing to communicate something to you. Paul

The web is all but invisible from outside the house. The only thing I can see are small leave it has captured. They're pretty dry so probably not very appetizing to even a vegetarian spider.

1"-2" of snow predicted today. 3"-6" for Friday/Saturday. The weather folks don't get bonuses for accuracy. Maybe for white teeth and blonde hair?

OOPS, I messed up! I thought this was posted by Jim and now I see how wrong I was. I could see a spider making a web in southern AZ but not in Detroit. I blame it on Covid brain and I’m going to ride with that excuse for as long as I can. Paul

Very nice capture of an impressive spider web.
And why is he out at this time of the year?? He probably isn't telling; but it is highly unusual.

I have no idea what triggered this spider to be out and about, much less building a nest. Once my wife saw me photographing it, she checked at least three times to make sure it wasn't inside.

The Spider (note capital 'S') I care most about is in the garage, nestled under its cover. I start it and run it about every three weeks and if conditions are right, I might even take it for a short drive.

You know, I still have and worry about my spider...I know weird, but it is winter and there are no gnats or fruit flies anymore...or not many I guess. If you are a spider and have to eat, putting up a web across where insects might be attracted to light...yeah, this looks pretty smart to me. One small meal will go a long way towards Spring if you are a spider. Traveller

Snow… no kidding, bet it will be gone before noon tomorrow. We got 6 inches. I was exhausted clearing it from the walks and drive and I use a snowblower. Exhaustion is a classic symptom and I fully agree. Paul
