He certainly would not need a ghost writer for that book.

Traveller, I hope you're writing your autobiography. It will be fascinating read, and the pictures will be terrific.

Thanks for the background, Traveller. I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. My wife's sister recently (just over a month ago) passed away from metastatic pancreatic cancer. She fought it bravely for sixteen months, but it's one of the few cancers which is still pretty much impossible to cure.

Initially, this was conceived as being bright and sparking food coloring. However, my red dye was really more black than red, the yellow was more red than yellow and the blue again shaded very deeply into black. Food coloring, at least my food coloring, did not work. So, I shifted over to some minor paint pots I had that seemed fine. The yellow was bright and arresting, the blue was very good, but the red was completely dried up into a caked solid mass. Alas.

From the photograph, these are actually oil pastels. They are intended for serious artists and Painters of which, I am of course, not one, but they were a gift to a very long-term friend and graphic designer in Florida. However, the friendship floundered, I say this with a hint of sadness, but who could have known the war in Ukraine would be going on this long? Still, Ken was a solid Putinista and so the friendship ended with me still having this gift.

I was then supposed to give them to Patricia, a woman I was seeing with some seriousness who was the president of her own company, a very successful advertising firm, so of course she was a good artist also. However, Patricia recently passed away from metastatic pancreatic cancer and, maybe sadly, I was not invited to the funeral but then the father of her children was there and so maybe it was better that I was left off.

Of some importance, you could extend this Challenge a day or two so that people maybe could shoot some decent clowns and what nots on Halloween night!

Best Wishes, Traveller

Quite striking. They look like crayons to me. This would be a good candidate for focus stacking.

I agree - highly creative. Very good composition and capture.

This idea & approach has potential for other photos as well.

I thought they might be crayons, interesting and identical sharpening pattern on them. Paul
