I think the National Park guidelines are 50 yards. This one was about that plus. Note the 400mm lens. I did let him get closer, but there were a lot of people in a line with ready access to cars. Jim

Very nice! Here they tell us to stay at least 100 yards away from bison since they are very unpredictable. Paul
