16 Small Stream.

Hiking on a forgotten trail I’ve enjoyed in the past. Had 4 low water crossings.

There is a black border on this, one I didn’t add rather one I didn’t fully remove after the conversion process.

I have revised my opinion on the foreground question, I am on a different computer so things look a little different, but I saw, and maybe still see, the stream and far bank as the subjects of this image...but it is okay with me now...was a black boarder added?

That is a nice conversion of a fantastic scene you captured and thank you for going to the effort to find and post it for us. Paul

I've found the old picture I was talking about, and put the original JPEG, and the enhanced painting-effect version in Pending. It was actually even older than I remembered. It's from 2004, taken with my original Digital Rebel in JPEG (before I was shooting RAW).

I am in the camp of " leave it as is". The leading line here is quite important. And the texture of the rock adds a lot of interest.

I always appreciate comments and apposing views. I left the foreground in because as you mentioned it leads one in, feel it gave balance and mostly because I love the textures of the foreground. I shot that scene about a dozen times from both directions, this one spoke to me the most. Paul .

Me too, Alastair...re this image, I think I'd crop out much of the foreground...I know it leads the eye in, but it also is kind of dead space also. Best Wishes, Traveller

Alastair if you still have digital copies of that church I’d love to see it and your conversion. I love art conversions and play with most images I take in one way or another just for fun. Delete go most of them but I still play. Paul

I like the watercolor effect. I did that to an old (from 2006) photo of the church in the village where my parents spent their retirement, in the Cotswolds (between Oxford and Stratford), and had it printed on canvas for a Christmas present for my wife. She loved visiting. This reminds me of that part of England.
