12 When you come to a fork in the road, take it

Boulder, CO

This was on a hike around Boulder,at a place called Eagle Trail. I did eventually see an eagle, but it was mostly just great views. We had just watched a documentary about Yogi Berra at the Boulder International Film Festival (hence the title).

Alastair for your 2nd career might give consideration to being a novelist.
Move over Steven King and let Alastair take over. Sounds like a Jimmy Hendrix song huh! Paul

Thanks everyone. As I was walking past that tree on the right, I thought I heard a whispery voice say "Help me!". I turned to look, and for a split second there seemed to be a face in the bark, with its mouth open in a scream. I blinked, and looked again, and it was gone. Later that evening, when I was reading the local paper at home, I saw a headline "Local hiker disappears on Eagle Trail". Oh well, circle of life, I suppose.

Alfred Hitchcock -- excellent guess.

Maybe a Alfred Hitchcock thriller?

Paul - there is an old horror movie this reminds me of; and of course I can't think of its name.
I'll count on Dave finding it - he is pretty good at finding those old references.

Jim I’m also fascinated by the right side trees but my style is opposite of yours. I’m leaving the trail and walking right up to them to investigate, explore and analyze why they are doing what they are doing. If the wife was with me she’d be standing well clear and yelling at me to get away from them “U blanking idiot” Paul

T - exactly. I have been trying to think about how to describe my reaction to this shot. That tree on the right has a lot of my attention. I don't want to walk under the branches, or even close to it. But there is a bright light in the distance I may want to get to,
