18 Tree Surgeons Performing Drastic Surgery

Boulder, CO

Tree surgeons, you say? But there are only two of them (old joke). In fact, you can just see a third (tird?) behind the branches. We got home from our morning run to find the road closed off, and some pretty heavy duty tree chopping going on. I think the tree used to be across the street from us.

Maybe it’s just me but unless they asked in advance I would have been plenty upset for them using my property to drop and chop someone else’s tree. That said I have dropped plenty of trees and there are times you need to lay down a tree in a certain direction without climbing and limping which isn’t always possible.

When the neighbors across the street from dropped 2 trees in the front yard the tree service hooked a rope high in the tree and they pulled it in the direction they needed using a truck. Paul

Yes, it was pretty big. And they were blocking our driveway, but only for an hour or so. As it happened, our car was in the shop at the time, so we didn't need to access the driveway (except on foot).

That is a huge tree! NIs that your driveway they are blocking with the downed tree? Paul

Someone should be counting the rings of that big one.
