Yeah, that’s not right. Is that a place you pass by often? I would like to see how it looks in the daytime. I thought scratching glass like that took a diamond pen. Not much better than throwing a brick through it.

PS Regarding the picture...there was some photoshopping...vertical alignment, noise reduction, smart sharpening, some added contrast and vibrance...but these are piffles...lol

What irritated and attracted me was that there was extensive graffiti...scratched in the cafe`s front window. Ultimately, I had to shoot around the deep scratches in a huge plate glass window.

This really angered me, Who would do such senseless vandalism? (I mean large panes of plate glass are expensive!)

It does make me feel a little better...I haven't even told my family or my lawyer brother with whom I am very close who lives back East...this was a very traumatic event for me. I'll keep it to myself for a while until I can rationally process this.

This failure, which would not be so bad except for how hard I worked at this...recommending a therapist, hoping I could put this couple back together...but I couldn't do it, I spoke to almost everyone on a daily basis...to include the police who were not happy at how gently I was attempting to handle this...I wanted him to keep his license...that was my "get."

I think other people knew he had a drug problem, they seemed less surprised than me. I was shattered.I though he was just a bad drinker and no one wanted to tell me anything further (even though I asked)...well. All I can do is sigh...thanks for the kind words.

This is definitely one of those cases of getting more than you asked for. I've seen many lights in many café windows and don't recall any of them looking like that. I though you may have done one of your usual creative jobs with some neat technique involved. Instead it's more in the vein of my "see it and shoot it" practice.

Your reaction to a terrible event is very human, and I hope sharing your story with us has helped you deal with your feelings (as you said, you're a talky kind of guy). Please feel free to reach out, as getting over something like that takes time. You shouldn't blame yourself for these deaths, as there's no way to know whether they would have happened without your ever having been involved with the associated cases. Hang in there, and good luck. January 6 has already become an infamous date. I hope it becomes the date on which you forgive yourself.

I was distressed, It may prove to be the case that I kill more people in the practice of law than I did with full on war in Vietnam. I lost another man, coroner has not gotten back with cause of death, but he was a medical professional and so had access to a multitude of drugs.

My "ask," to him was just to be a decent human being, stop beating on the mother of your child, be more careful with this tender new born baby.

It seemed like an easy get to me, but he couldn't make it...I was blamed again today for his his death...by the Iranian community here, much as I was blamed by the Native American Community for a suicide in 2019.

I was trying to shake off a real depression and was out walking, saw this light in a cafe window and so shot it. I am still a little shocky, I have to explain this to a trial court on Jan 6....

On the very bright side, he didn't kill her or his baby....or me. (people threaten to kill me from time to time...but I have been able to talk my way out of this or that...I am a talky kind of guy...{grin}).
