04 6-12 inches apart at 700 mph

Tucson, AZ view map

It is hard to believe how good these Thunderbird pilots are. They are just about touching while flying at 700 mph.

Great capture of the peak moment.

This was with the 100-400 original Canon Zoom. It is the push/pull design, and the glass has always been very good.

Great shot. Was this with one of the 100-400 zooms? Which one?

Guest - not quite, though I know what you mean.
If my hand slips during a photo, I get a blurred photo and a do-over.

If I am a Thunderbird pilot travelling at 1000 ft/sec, one little hand slip will result in the death of multiple people.

Flying in this formation takes skill, steady hand and serious attention to detail. Paul

Brilliant shot, though not as good a story as the three eras in your other.
