For these bucks under the canopy, I'm normally shooting at 1/200 or 1/250th.
I don't know if the Sony system is any better than any of the others.
Now days, it seems like they're all pretty good.
I used the Sony 200-600 zoom for this shot, and about 95% of all my photos.
It's a fantastic lens.
The only time I use a tripod, is for very long exposures. Everything else is hand held.
I'm lucky in the fact that I have the hands of a surgeon.
40 years of welding, holding a tight controlled arc was great training for taking photos.
As for the challenges, I'm just not into that much now days.
Although I'm lazy, I still have plenty to do.
So I'm content to every now and then pop a photo into the exhibition gallery.

At 600 mm and 1/400 shutter were you on a tripod or does the Sony have a kick ass VR system?
I really mis your work in the challenges! You know I setup the gallery blanks every month and Jim does the voting so you could stick your toe back into the water…. A good way to help kick that “ lazy sob “ habit. Of course one could easily say I got lazy too.

I don't shoot Canon anymore, and now that I'm retired, I'm basically a lazy S.O.B. that just wants to kick back and relax.
But I do pop in now and then to take a peek at the photos.
To Guest - because Dave doesn't want to win and run a challenge. We welcome his contributions and comments, as he is a very very fine photographer, specializing in wildlife.
