Conversely, and more probably, yellow and black are a standout as a danger signal, especially protecting the neck and head area. Best Wishes, Traveller

I’ve seen a few of these guys here in the metro area and plenty of them in the Ozarks. Naturally Ozark weather isn’t quite as burning hot as it is in the desert which would make me only want to come out after sundown too. Paul

What a great and mystifying nature shot....mystifying because the gold band around the neck is so very perfect, but then, what is its purpose? I suppose it is evolutionary...so they can recognize one another for mating...I guess. Otherwise, it is just sure pretty. Traveller
