Witch hazel flowers in winter. I usually look for it in February and March, but there's no better time than when someone has their camera ready.

Nor I, I just think that it is very pretty, well framed. I am a little surprised that it seems to be budding amid all that snow. Travelller

I know what witch hazel is and used it in the very very distant past but I wouldn’t have known this was A which hazel plant had you not labeled it. Question is anyone else know what this was had it not been identified. Paul

T - I understand your comment on DOF. But I'll use a word that my good friend in Tokyo would use for this - dreamy. That is the way that it strikes me. A dreamy shot.
It really hit me when you said Japanese print.

Please see two additional versions over in Pending...I'm not sure either is better than yours. Still, it is great to see you shooting in the present and!...I got an original large version to work on. So thanks for that. (I might have preferred a lot more DOF, depth of field, maybe 1/500 a second at f14...but you are the artist, this works regardless...so kudos to you). Traveller

1/8000 sec! How did you decide on which branch to focus?

What a great choice of aperture. It must have been overcast - no shadows on the snow. I really like the final result.
Out of curiosity, did you shoot this with other apertures?
And what lens?

This is quite Lovely, Sue Anne...almost like a Japanese silk print. (I like this so much I am do a little PS on it, if you don't mind), Best Wishes, Traveller
