Thanks. Having the lemur lit helped the camera focus. Look at a satellite map of the area, and you'll have no trouble picking out the protected areas. Mother Nature and the people of Madagascar need considerable help for both to survive and coexist. Dave

I did not use flash. Our guide had a flashlight. How he even spotted the "little guy" is beyond me. I am sometimes suspicious about wildlife being placed for our viewing pleasure (my favorite sloth shot from the Peruvian Amazon is an example). While there are no guarantees of seeing particular animals (even at zoos), guides and tourism officials are keenly aware that people who have traveled long distances and spent a lot of money have high expectations. My son would enjoy seeing the elusive aye-aye in the wild (or, more likely, on a reserve). We didn't even try for that on this trip. We did, however, see (and hear!) indri, which was very special.
