I have a lot of neighbors.

We also get a lot of visitors.
I met a couple who had traveled
from Sao Paolo Brazil for the event.

40000 cars and 1.5 mil people?? WOW that's huge... massive!
Traveller zoom in and look at the face on the lady in the car, she is smiling which can be seen in both her lips but equally in her eyes. Now we know why she's smiling. Paul

It was the annual Woodward Dream Cruise (www.woodwarddreamcruise.com). Last year’s attracted 40,000 classic cars and 1.5 million people.

Really only one chance at each car. Even if they come around again, they may be obscured by another vehicle or stationary in traffic. What would you recommend trying for a longer exposure? 1/100 was as slow as I got. I had been using 1/200 to blur the wheels on moving cars.

I suspect any Alfa owner or enthusiast would have no trouble identifying the car as a Giulia. I can tell, for instance, that it doesn’t have a sunroof.

lol....eagle eyed Paul...I never even saw her in the chair...I am however more doubtful that she is smiling....lol.

For Dave, experiment with second shutter setting maybe, and some longer exposures. I thought it clever to obscure the make of the car. Traveller

I also couldn’t help noticing the lady across the street sitting in a lawn chair watching. Was this a parade of some sort? Paul.

Wherever there’re going she must be excited about it because in that moment in time you captured a smile on her face. Paul

It's an Alfa Romeo Giulia. Mine is white and has the same wheels (which are hopelessly dirty due to all the construction in our neighborhood).

I got caught short with the wrong focal length as I panned (and now appreciate the added challenge when the subject is close and moving fast).

I may end up choosing a different speed/panning shot. Cars are a big thing for me, and capturing one in motion seemed appropriate for this challenge.

Nice wheels, I've never seen these before. Also the car is positioned within the frame such that I cannot see the front or rear....and so can't tell the make. Was this intentional? Traveller
