18 holer wow my grandmothers place only had 3. I would have liked seeing this public potty! I think I kind of remember seeing something similar in a movie once but who trusts Hollywood to get historical facts right? Not me! Paul

I shoulda taken a photo of them. Didn't count but joked about it being an eighteen holer.

The Romans were amazing builders, and the Israelis are skilled and dedicated archeologists.

Been there, done that...this really made me smile big...

"the Philistines, who used it as a base of operations for further penetrations into Israel proper. During a subsequent battle against King Saul at nearby Mount Gilboa in 1004 BC, the Philistines prevailed and Saul together with three of his sons, Jonathan, Abinadab and Malchishua, died in battle (1 Samuel 31; 1 Chronicles 10). 1 Samuel 31:10 states that "the victorious Philistines hung the body of King Saul on the walls of Beit She'an". King David was able to capture Beit Shea'an in a series of brilliant military campaigns that expelled the Philistines from the area, pushing them back to their southern coastal strongholds."

Very historical place....I was particularly impressed by the very public rest rooms, with seats for all...lol
