While we don't get the colors of the real hardwoods like Maples, we do get a little color about now.

Be sure to get a decent one, don’t buy one off eBay for 25 bucks. I know a guy that did and it was junk. Paul

After more thought, I really should get a ND for this lens, as I use it for lightning shots as well; and I need it for the daytime shots.

BTW, I have more shots with different waterfalls, but fewer trees (or lines).

Thanks. A neutral density filter might have helped. But I prefer a bit more water structure at 0.3 or 0.4 sec, not at 1 sec, and I wanted a longer DOF. A ND would have let me go to 0.5 sec which might have been a bit better.
As it is, I tried some modified focus stacking on quite a few shots even at f/22 to get sharpness throughout the shot.

Colors look good to me and as DAVE mentioned a ND would be perfect for that scene. Paul

Lovin' that flowin' water and slow shutter speed. Might a neutral density filter have helped?
