I forgot to mention what I’ve cloned out is the specular highlights from the flash. Water drop photography is all about angles and it’s nearly impossible to not get reflections back from the speed light since the water drop distorts the water in angles you can’t control so the solution is to use the healing brush. Dave over the years there have boatloads of them that were interesting and good but still didn’t make the Paul cut. More than once tho I’ve realized I made the wrong choice.......

Dare I ponder what other wonders you have hesitated to share with us?

I love the little flags in the droplets and the red ripples around the impact zone. Cloning and healing? My ability to spot where they're needed may be a reason why I do so little post work.

Personally I was hesitant to even enter this, you guys know me, I never like my own work. And now that I look closer I see a few more areas needing some cloning/healing brush work which I will take care of promptly and replace it.
If your referring to the 1/91 of a second shutter speed sync it's because the off camera strobe fired at 1/16th power for a short duration burst to freeze the action which is critical otherwise it would be a blurred mess. I think I shot about 500 water drop shots over 3 days and only have a hand full of halfway interesting photos. One of these days I'm going to get me a water drop kit to get more and better interesting photos. The kits are not even really expensive either. Paul

Great shot. Shutter speed seems out of synch with the image.

Wow - what a great idea, and the execution is first rate.

This deserves a "how to " lesson later.

You absolute son of a gun! just....frigin` remarkable work by you...I hate you, (grin....but for your imagination and talent, in some nether regions this has a bitter grain of truth)
