If you didn't say he was moving and it was later in the year, I'd suspect there was a doe below hidden by the foliage. Dave

Thanks guys. The light was at the very end of the day. Sundown is about 8:45, this was down in a valley at 8:42. This guy is not young, but he is in his prime. We were talking about it last night, we believe him to be 5 years old. Most deer in the park check out at 8 or 9. Well, the ones that don't get hit by cars. He's already showing 12 points, his final count from last year, with a lot more growing to do. A few others were out last night. It should be a rut season this year.
