A Lawyer's Cup of Morning Brew

.
.
Trying to match Susan's Creativity.

However, I had hoped to take some crisp white sheets, do some time lapse with me tossing and turning under them, spread out some of this food coloring...and, and....I come to find out that this food coloring is damned hard to get off of things...maybe cloth especially. (Note: my hands are still red from the above shot).

I just did a 30 second play by burning the mid tones inside the cup and it works fairly well. give it a try! Paul

I agree with Paul - the inside red should be darkened quite a bit.

Hmmm , "blood sucking attorneys" - I kinda like that.

everything outside the cup looks like blood but the inside is too transparent and looks more like tea. Maybe if you selected the inside of the cup and lower the brightness, or burn it down some so you can’t see through it. As you mentioned kids craft paint would be a great option.

Blood sucking attorneys, now that one I like. ;-). Paul

Thanks, Dave, I think the bottom of the cup looks like blood...I will try this again. Thanks again, Traveller

Reminds me of long-brewed South African Rooibos tea (which is delicious and healthy). Blood perhaps a little darker (inky?) and less pink. These colors have me thinking raspberry rather than cherry.

Not sure why creepy would be outside the lines. Creative thinking applauded.

Exactly, this is what I wanted for the sheet image...outside the lines, but still 2/3rds or maybe more or actual white...pure yet shocking and if I find some child's play paint that will wash out easily, I still might do it.

Alas, as for this image, I posted this over at my travel site and someone thought it was a morning cup of cherry tea...Yikes! Maybe other people here also...but it is supposed to look like a cup of blood....

I did lighten the central red circle in the cup thinking it look too dark, but now it is mistaken for tea?

Maybe I messed up.

What did you think, Paul, Cherry Tea or blood?

Interesting entry but to be honest your description of where you wanted to take the scene sounds rather creepy, almost outside the lines. Paul

Awesome Traveller! It was well worth the mess. My brain is scrambling to come up with some worthy competition.

I am just glad that I tested it out on a dish cloth before I tried to get more elaborate with it. ;>}}

Nice touch of red to this otherwise all white shot.
I generally screw up something with food coloring as well.
