Same here Jim! My drive is loaded with shots, even after culling, that I'll never use. I am making an effort to reduce that lately but if it's in your blood to shoot extras then you shoot more just incase.
Traveller - we all have that range of shots. I make take 300-500, but only show you 1. I will probably toss 3/4 of what I shoot.
I have learned that the secret is to vary all the parameters. Sometimes you never know ahead of time what the best set should be. My favorite National Geographic instructor via video says "work the scene".
Yes, 1/13 sec, f4, 1600iso....since this is a prideful thing....it is hard for me to get past some of these subconscious insistent habits....some of my work shooting Othello Saturday night was bad...not all but some...much was shot at 1/25 and 1/40....to slow to freeze hand motions, etc....I screwed up badly, but there is enough I can save...(I even burned a lot of frames!)
I've done this before....different conditions of course...but Saturday night did not live up to even my meager talents.
