It turns out to be a tip of another branch that is out of focus as it bends away. You can see a part of it below the bird on the right side of the branch.

I see, in that case there happens to be more of those so called HUGE dust spots right under the bird. Paul.

No dust - just a bad edit with tired eyes. I removed a branch.

Great shot for the challenge. But if you got dust showing that prominent at 7.1 it's time to clean that sensor. ;-) Paul
