A guiding Hand

view map

I would be so screwed without my Garmin Navigator. When traveling to true unknown areas I'm so protective of it that when we get out of the car I pull it and put it in my pocket. Oh and by the way I ignored "Jill's" suggestion that I turn right on 20'th rather I opted to continue down Wilshire to Centinela to go under the I-10. Forget about the 10 at 6:00 PM, nothing but brake lights.

According to my wife the fitness line of Garmin's products is going gangbusters and is the best selling line they have. The Garmin unit I have is the flagship model from last year and I really enjoy and depend on it. For years we were able to get units on consignment and upgrade yearly to the latest and greatest model but recently a change occurred and they required us to purchase them if we wanted to keep them. I did so without any hesitation and if mine were to fail or get damaged, lost or stolen I'd get another one today without even thinking about it. Paul

I love my Garmin too. Mine has a traffic conditions feature, that warns you of slowdowns ahead, and reroutes you. It only cost a little over $100, and has lifetime map updates. I also love my Garmin running watch. It has a handy "back to start" feature, if you get lost. My son used that on his once, when he was running with our group, but got separated and followed some people he didn't realize weren't with our group, until a mile or two after they'd taken a different turn. If those satellites ever fall from the sky, I have no idea what I'll do!

Jim, that moving map is one of my favorite features of the Garmin Nav. If you ever decide to get one send me a PM.

I was pleasantly surprised with the LA area traffic Wednesday AM. Leaving the Santa Monica hotel we stayed in at 8:30 AM it only took 15 minutes to get to the car rental facility and another 12 to the LAX and since we were travelling with a small child they have a special line for you and I was a TSA Pre Check so we were at the gate in no time.

A fun shot. I keep wanting to get one for the maps. We currently use the GM Onstar without maps.

Ahh, much better, my Boy and Woman were shot just up the hill at the Getty...and, of course, at the airport, I was only a hop-skip-and-jump away from Santa Monica.

I wish you were in town for happier purposes....but still hope that all goes well.

Well I was a little tired when I uploaded it and didn't realize I dumped it in the wrong spot. Thanks!! Santa Monica, I had the iPhone gps feature turned on so if you click on the "view map" right under the title you will see exactly where I was parked while my daughter ran into the vegi grill for her dinner. As you can see Mr. Traveller Sir I was in your general neighborhood again and preliminary it looks like we'll be back in late April again. Flying and travelling so much lately I'm starting to earn perks with the TSA and Southwest Airlines. Paul
