Destructive Play

Boulder, CO

Since our son left home, the only child I have available to photograph is our new cat, Doctor McCoy (our other cat is Spock, and Spock's now sadly departed companion was Kirk). He was under a year, when we adopted him a couple of months ago, and is still very much a kitten. He's exactly like a toddler (except with sharp teeth and claws), constantly rushing around, needing to be played with. Our house is covered with toys and shredded paper and cardboard (just like 20 years ago, when our son was a toddler). This shoe box is his latest favorite, but at the rate he's chewing it up, it won't be around for long.

A very nice portrait of an active "child".

I can relate. Mine is just 6 years old ;) Shredding those boxes is known as arts and crafts time.
